This Necklace is an ode to two of the most historically important rivers of Mesopotamia, the Euphrates and Tigris river. Generally a sandy and dry area, the fertile land between these two rivers allowed ancient civilizations like the Sumerians and Akkadians to survive and grow crops. Mesopotamia, Greek for ‘a land between two rivers’, was eventually conquered by Emperor Alexander the Great, and was a crucial element for the silk trade route, bringing wealth to the roman empire. Fluid and lightly textured, these two organically handcrafted pendants are inspired by flowing waters and the shape of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. Our Mesopotamia Necklace is minimal and contemporary in style yet with a deeper story behind. Wear this piece on its own for maximal impact.
